Research forbetter hiring decisions.

We study how small and mid-sized hiring teams make decisions, where their processes stall, and which information changes their work. The aim is practical evidence, not a universal benchmark.

Daniel leads UX Research at Join, studying how hiring teams make decisions and measure their work.

METHOD

From conversation to finding.

The programme combines three forms of evidence. Each answers a different part of the research question.

  1. 01

    Moderated conversations

Recruiters and HR managers describe real decisions, workflows, and constraints.

  2. 02

    Product observation

We examine what happened in the workflow, then investigate why it happened.

  3. 03

    Structured analysis

Recurring themes are coded and kept separate from one-off observations.

RESEARCH STANDARDS

What the evidence can and cannot show.

Participation stays confidential

We do not publish a participant's identity, employer, raw notes, recordings, or an identifiable quotation without explicit permission. A point based on one conversation is labelled as such.

Qualitative evidence has boundaries

Participants are not a representative sample of every European employer. Qualitative research can explain behaviour and decisions, but it cannot establish how common they are across the market.

Reporting referenceExternal benchmarks remain attributed to their source and method. The current human-capital reporting reference is ISO 30414:2025.
