How the Netherlands' largest dating agency uses Join to reach relationship consultants its own career page can't

Mens & Relatie is the Netherlands’ largest personal matchmaking agency, founded in 1984. It has no central recruiting team: instead, independent regional matchmakers, sometimes called relationship consultants, each build their own client base under the company’s name across the country. Radboud Visser has run the company for more than three decades.

The decision

Radboud isn’t a recruiter. He’s also vice-chair of the Dutch matchmaking trade association and the expert matchmaker on RTL 4’s Married at First Sight. But when a region loses its matchmaker, or the network expands into a new one, filling that role still lands on his desk, on top of running the company, coaching, and his media commitments.

Before Join, that meant logging into several job boards separately for every vacancy: LinkedIn, Indeed, and others, each managed on its own, with no shared view of what was actually working. “I don’t have time to manage five different platforms every time we need a new matchmaker,” Radboud says. And the role itself doesn’t help: a self-employed, home-based, relationship-focused consultant position doesn’t read like a typical job ad, so it doesn’t reach the right people through any single channel alone.

Radboud didn’t set out to buy a full recruiting suite. He needed a way to get a vacancy in front of the right people without adding a second job to his week. That’s the decision that led Mens & Relatie to multiposting: publish a vacancy once, and let it go out everywhere at once, instead of logging into each board in turn.

He also wasn’t trying to build a hiring pipeline the way a large HR team would. Mens & Relatie doesn’t hire constantly: it needs one good regional match, occasionally, not a recruiting function running alongside the business. A tool built around weekly hiring volume, a dedicated recruiter, or a training investment would have solved a problem Radboud didn’t have.

How it played out

With multiposting, one vacancy now reaches LinkedIn, Indeed, Monsterboard, Talent.com, and other boards without a separate posting or login for each. Radboud takes a role from blank page to live listing in around 12 minutes, from one screen.

Since switching, most applications have come through boards like LinkedIn and Indeed rather than the company’s own careers page alone, evidence that Join reaches people outside Mens & Relatie’s existing network too. The first application after posting a new vacancy typically arrives within about a day.

That shift matters more than the minutes saved. A vacancy used to be one more thing pulling at whatever time Radboud had left over. Now it’s a task he can open, finish, and close in whatever gap he has, without it pushing anything else back.

The account itself doesn’t need tending between vacancies: some months it sits untouched, other months a region opens up and Radboud is publishing the same day. Either way, nothing has to be relearned or rebuilt when the next one comes around.

Radboud doesn’t know which region will need a matchmaker next. When it does, the decision stays the same one he made: publish once, and let Join take it from there.
