The candidates you already know. Ready when you are.
Everyone who applies stays in your candidate database, so nobody is lost when a role closes. The talent pool is the shortlist you build from it: the people worth a message when the next role opens. Tag by skill, location, education and experience. Candidates control their own data.
Nothing is lost. The pool is what you chose to keep.
Every application stays in your candidate database after the role closes, so nobody disappears when you archive a job. The talent pool is the deliberate layer on top: you add someone from their profile when they are worth coming back to, then tag them by skill, location, education or experience. The database is the record of everyone who applied. The pool is the shortlist your team actually works.

Re-engage. Candidates stay in control.
When the next role opens, search the pool, or go wider and filter the whole candidate database. Send a personalised re-engagement to the 12 senior engineers tagged 'Python · Berlin · open to remote'. Candidates can withdraw consent any time, directly on Join. So the pool doesn't end when the application file is deleted; it stays alive as long as candidates keep saying yes.

Talent pools FAQ
Does every candidate end up in the talent pool?
Not automatically. Applying puts someone in your candidate database, which is the record of everyone who applied and keeps them after the role closes. The talent pool is deliberate: you add someone from their profile when they are worth revisiting. Profiles you add by hand or through the LinkedIn extension enter the same way, and Join sends those people a consent request on its own.
What can I search the pool on?
The Join talent pool documentation lists tags, country, CV, email address and consent status among the searchable fields. You can also filter by application tag and country, which is how a segment becomes a shortlist in one pass.
Does a candidate get notified when I assign them to a job?
No. Assigning a talent pool profile to a job sends nothing automatically. Reach out first and confirm the person wants to be considered for that particular role before you move them into a pipeline.
Is a talent pool profile the same as an application?
No. The profile keeps the person on file for later. The moment you assign them to a job, that job gets its own application, with its own pipeline stage and its own history.
