Berlin, Munich and Hamburg pull the range up (75-95 k€ at a tech scale-up); classic Mittelstand sectors and smaller cities trend toward the lower end (50-60 k€). Variable compensation is unusual in this role; some early-stage scale-ups offer VSOP (virtual shares), which legally are not variable compensation in the narrow sense.
