Job board
A job board is an online service where employers list vacancies and candidates search or respond to them. Some boards publish employer-submitted ads; others also collect listings from elsewhere.
A place to find or publish vacancies
A job board brings vacancy listings and job seekers together. Employers may submit an ad to the board, while some services also gather listings from employer sites or other sources. An employer’s careers page presents that employer’s own openings; a job board serves listings from multiple employers. A search engine can also show job details without being a conventional board. Google’s JobPosting guidance applies to individual job detail pages and says structured data does not guarantee a result will appear in its job search experience.
Choose a destination for the role
Before posting, check whether the board accepts the role’s location and industry, how it charges, what review or eligibility rules apply, and where the candidate completes an application. These details can vary by board and by listing; a name on a distribution menu does not itself confirm that a particular ad will be accepted or displayed.
