Gross fixed salary per year for a Zahnmedizinische:r Fachangestellte:r (ZFA) with 10 to 20 years of experience in a German dental practice, without a formal advancement qualification (ZMP, ZMF, ZMV, which each carry their own, higher salary band). Collective-agreement data for dental assistants (AAZ and the Verband medizinischer Fachberufe) shows pay climbing slowly but steadily by years of service: around 34 k€ in the base activity group at 10 to 12 years, rising toward 42 k€ in a higher activity group at the same tenure, and toward 44 k€ by 13 to 15 years in that group. Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart, MVZ and chain-practice structures, and deep routine in implantology, orthodontics or complex GOZ private billing pull upward; rural single practices and eastern Germany trend downward. No structural variable component; many practices pay Christmas or holiday pay per tariff, and a long-tenured ZFA is often the practice's informal go-to for onboarding and hygiene standards without a change in title.
