Gross fixed salary per year for a senior Full-Stack Engineer (7 to 12+ years of experience) at a German SMB or Mittelstand company. Berlin, Munich and Hamburg in the SaaS/scale-up environment pull upward (90-115 k€); classic Mittelstand and provincial locations trend lower (62-72 k€). Deep experience across the full stack, a track record of owning architecture end to end and mentoring pull noticeably upward. Sources disagree more at this level than at mid or junior: Stepstone's own Senior Full Stack Developer salary page is based on very few active listings and understates the market (median around 55 k€); Indeed and Glassdoor aggregate a far larger sample and put the average closer to 74-75 k€, with senior total compensation reaching up to around 98 k€, which is the basis for this band. Engineering roles in Germany usually have no variable compensation component; scale-ups add VSOP/ESOP on top, which matters more at senior level.
