For reference: the statutory minimum wage in Germany has stood at €13.90 gross per hour since January 1, 2026 — roughly €2,410 gross a month for a full-time role at 40 hours/week. (BMAS: Mindestlohn steigt zum 1. Januar 2026 auf 13,90 Euro)

Gross fixed salary per year for a Zahnmedizinische:r Fachangestellte:r (ZFA) with 5 to 10 years of experience in a German dental practice, without a formal advancement qualification (ZMP, ZMF, ZMV). Under the collective agreement for dental assistants (AAZ and the Verband medizinischer Fachberufe), pay in this experience band grows only gradually across activity groups and years of service: the base activity group moves from around 32 k€ at 4 to 6 years of service to around 33 k€ at 7 to 9 years, while a higher activity group at the same tenure already reaches 40 to 41 k€. Non-tariff-bound practices orient on this structure but often pay 5 to 10% below it, particularly in rural regions and eastern Germany. Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart, plus MVZ and chain-practice structures, pull upward. Profiles working toward an additional qualification (ZMP, ZMF, ZMV) or with deep implantology, orthodontics or GOZ private-billing routine sit at the top of the range. No structural variable component; many practices pay Christmas or holiday pay per tariff and occasionally an attendance bonus.
