About Zentraljob

Zentraljob is the regional job portal for Central Switzerland, launched by the Luzerner Zeitung in 2011 and run today by CH Media Classifieds. It gathers vacancies from the cantons of Lucerne, Zug, Schwyz, Uri, Obwalden and Nidwalden across every sector. Its visitors come from Central Switzerland itself, so it anchors local hiring.

Candidates filter by keyword, workplace, workload from 10 to 100%, contract type (permanent, temporary, freelance, internship, apprenticeship, holiday job), management level and one of twenty occupational groups. A job alert emails new listings every day and can be limited to a distance from home, such as 15 km.

Zentraljob reaches people who want to work near home in Central Switzerland. When the role could draw someone from Zurich, Bern or further away, add a national Swiss board. CH Media Classifieds also runs a sister portal for Eastern Switzerland, which helps when the workplace sits near that border.

Zentraljob FAQ

Which area does Zentraljob cover?
The six cantons of Central Switzerland, Lucerne, Zug, Nidwalden, Obwalden, Uri and Schwyz, plus surrounding areas, in the site's own words. Name the exact town in the ad: candidates filter by workplace, and their job alert can be limited to a set distance from home.
Is the Zentraljob Single Posting worth it through Join?
For a role in Central Switzerland, yes. Join books a 30-day regional placement for one vacancy, which puts the job in front of the site's regional visitors and into the daily job alert for matching searches. For a role that could be filled from anywhere in the country, a national board is the better first booking.
Do I need my own Zentraljob account?
No. Join publishes to Zentraljob for you, so you post from your Join account and never set one up.
