Best job sites in Switzerland: 15 platforms for hiring in 2026

Fifteen Swiss job boards we route to at Join. Generalist, tech, regional, healthcare, executive. What each one is built for and when to combine them.

Switzerland is several hiring markets sharing one flag. The same vacancy in St. Gallen and in Geneva draws on different candidate pools, through different channels, in a different language — and the board that fills one will quietly underperform on the other.

Occupation splits the market as sharply as geography does. The Adecco Group Swiss Job Market Index, compiled quarterly by the Swiss Job Market Monitor at the University of Zurich, put advertised vacancies down 2.4% over the second quarter of 2026 and effectively flat against the year before, at −0.2%. That flat average is the least useful number in the report. Underneath it, health-profession postings rose 17% and skilled trades and industry 12%, while natural-science roles fell 18% year on year and commercial roles 13%. One generalist board averages those swings away; two boards chosen for the role do not.

So the shortlist below is grouped by what each platform is built to do rather than by how large it is. The pattern that holds across the Swiss jobs we route at Join is unglamorous: one broad board to fill the top of the funnel, one narrow board to make the resulting shortlist worth reading.

Where most Swiss candidates start

For office, retail, hospitality, customer-facing and entry-level roles, one of these is the home base.

Jobs.ch

The default Swiss generalist. Part of the JobCloud group, broad sector coverage, established candidate base. One distinguishing feature: candidates can leave employer reviews, adding a small employer-branding layer on top of the listing.

Best for: Swiss-domestic roles, mid-to-high volume hiring, broad professional categories.

JobUp.ch

The other side of the JobCloud network. Strong in Bern, Geneva, Fribourg and Zurich, with high daily traffic and broad industry coverage.

Best for: bilingual roles and positions across multiple major Swiss cities. JobUp covers both German-speaking and French-speaking Switzerland.

Jobchannel

A generalist with an unusual distribution model. By its own account it pushes listings out across 60-plus professional and trade associations plus 150-plus platforms, magazines, social channels and newsletters, which reaches people who are not actively searching.

Best for: roles where you want passive reach alongside the obvious active pool.

JobCheck

Covers Germany, Austria, the UK and Switzerland across full-time, part-time, fixed-term, working-student and internship postings. Nothing it does is Swiss-specific, so it earns a slot only when the search is deliberately DACH-wide.

Indeed

The largest job board in the world, with Swiss coverage. Indeed’s own figures put it at 665 million job-seeker profiles across more than 60 countries. Reach is the entire proposition, and it is also the entire drawback: with light screening in front of it, Indeed will fill your inbox faster than anyone can read it. With knockout questions in front of it, it fills a funnel faster than any Swiss-domestic alternative.

Best for: roles with real screening capacity, where pool size is the constraint.

LinkedIn

Not Swiss-specific, but the density is high in Zurich, Geneva, Basel and Lausanne. LinkedIn reports 1.3 billion members worldwide. A free post reaches roughly your own network; a paid one reaches a Switzerland-segmented audience many times larger.

Best for: white-collar professional roles, especially tech, finance, marketing and consulting.

XING

The DACH-focused professional network: solid in German-speaking Switzerland, thin in the Romandie. It earns its place when the search is deliberately DACH-wide rather than Swiss-domestic, and when the profile you want is a mid-career German-speaking professional who is not on an English-language platform.

Best for: German-Swiss senior roles, active sourcing across DACH.

Monster

Included for completeness. Monster has a Swiss presence, but as a Swiss-only choice it loses to Jobs.ch and Jobchannel on both reach and price. Worth a slot only if it is already paid for as part of a multi-country stack.

Engineering and IT

Generalist boards return mixed candidates for technical roles. The specialists return fewer who actually match. Technical demand has also held up better than the headline suggests, carried by construction, infrastructure and building services.

SwissDevJobs

The Swiss tech platform for engineering and development roles at every seniority level. Active across all language regions, available in English, German and French.

Best for: Swiss engineering roles across language regions, multilingual teams.

Ictjobs.ch

Specialised in Swiss IT profiles. Smaller than the generalists, but the hit rate on IT searches is materially higher.

Best for: IT operations, systems administration, helpdesk, cloud and classic enterprise IT.

Region beats industry here

In Switzerland the canton often matters more than the sector. A role in St. Gallen attracts a different field than the same role in Lucerne.

Ostjob

Regional platform for St. Gallen, Thurgau, Appenzell, Zurich and Graubünden. Offers job alerts, straightforward search, and bundles with regional newspapers.

Best for: location-bound roles in Eastern Switzerland, especially SMBs recruiting from a local pool.

Zentraljob

The leading platform in Central Switzerland, owned by Luzerner Zeitung, with particular reach in Lucerne, Zug and Schwyz.

Best for: roles in Central Switzerland, especially SMBs with a regional identity.

Healthcare, where the shortage is structural

Generalists reach nurses, doctors and medical practice assistants unreliably, and this is the segment where getting the channel wrong costs the most. The 17% rise in health-profession postings is attributed to population ageing rather than the business cycle, which means it does not reverse when the economy does. The Swiss Skills Shortage Index, the annual companion study from the same Adecco–University of Zurich partnership, has tracked the same imbalance since well before this year; its most recent edition was published on 27 November 2025.

Healthjobs

One of Switzerland’s leading platforms for medical roles. Covers hospitals, care homes, practices and outpatient services.

Best for: nursing, medicine, therapy, MPA, pharma sales with a Switzerland focus.

Praxisstellen

Specialised in medical and care-adjacent staff for practices and clinics. A tighter focus than Healthjobs, with a better hit rate in the outpatient and small-practice space.

Best for: practices, dental practices and smaller medical employers hiring specialist staff.

Experteer

A Swiss presence in the premium segment, with listed roles starting at roughly CHF 120,000. It sits between a job board and a search firm: you can post, but recruiters also search the candidate base directly by function, industry and seniority.

Best for: senior individual-contributor and management roles, especially finance, tech and corporate functions.

Treat the right column as the one that earns its keep. The left column decides how many people see the role; the right column decides how many of them are worth interviewing.

The failure mode we see most often is a default board inherited from a previous hire that went well. A company growing from fifteen to eighty people changes its role mix faster than it changes its habits, and the pairing that filled a warehouse position is not the pairing that fills a controller vacancy. Revisit it every few hires.

What we ship, and the conflict of interest

We sell an ATS and resell several of the boards above, so read the next paragraph with that in mind.

Join posts to Jobs.ch, JobUp.ch, Indeed, LinkedIn and XING from a single form, along with most of the specialist platforms on this list. Quick Apply is enabled on Indeed, LinkedIn and XING where the board supports it. Paid placements are bought through us at the board’s own rate, with no markup added. The part that matters for the table above is the attribution: every application arrives tagged with the board it came from, so after a handful of Swiss hires in one role family the pairing stops being our recommendation and becomes your own data.

The comparison worth making is not one board against five. It is five boards with five inboxes, five dashboards and a spreadsheet in the middle, against five boards with one of each. Publishing to more places was never the expensive part.

A board only decides who applies

Every platform on this list does one job: it puts a candidate in front of you. What happens in the next two working days decides whether that candidate is still available. That makes response time the cheapest lever on this page — it costs nothing except deciding who owns the inbox — and the one most often left unpulled.

Get the pairing right and you will usually spend less on boards than you do now. Answer quickly and you will get considerably more out of both.
