NL: Head of Accounting

Our Client, a leading European developer and investor of commercial real estate is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Accounting for their operations in the Netherlands. • Financial Reporting:

• Oversee the preparation and submission of accurate financial statements in accordance with Dutch GAAP, IFRS, and internal policies.
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop, manage, and monitor the annual budgeting process.

• Provide detailed financial analysis and forecasting to support business planning and strategic decision-making.

• Audit and Compliance:

• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and liaise with tax advisors to optimize tax strategies.

• Financial Controls:

• Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes.

• Monitor and improve financial systems and procedures to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

• Team Leadership:

• Manage and mentor a team of junior accountants, creating a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

• Lead recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for the accounting department.

• Stakeholder Management:

• Act as the primary contact for financial matters with internal stakeholders, including senior management and the board of directors.
• Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with experience in a leadership role.
• Extensive knowledge of Dutch GAAP and IFRS.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
