Our customer, CMBlu, started in 2011 as a research-driven project with the goal of storing electrical energy in any quantity in an environmentally friendly, sustainable and cost-effective manner. They are a highly motivated, committed, and fast-growing team of over 180 employees now preparing for the market launch of their products and further professionalizing their organization.

As the Head of Stack Development (m/f/d) at CMBlu, you will take the lead in driving the advancement of our cutting-edge energy storage technologies. You'll be at the forefront of innovation, guiding a talented team to continuously enhance the performance and efficiency of our stacks. Working closely with cross-functional departments, you will oversee the design process, ensure the quality and longevity of our products, and support production teams to bring our ambitious goals to life. You'll turn high-level company objectives into actionable tasks and ensure project milestones are met—on time, every time.

What You Can Expect:

• Lead and motivate a high-performing team, fostering collaboration and translating business goals into actionable tasks
• Oversee the design process, ensuring technical and commercial requirements are met, and drive continuous improvements in stack performance, durability, and cost efficiency
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including electrodes, membranes, and hydraulics, to optimize stack performance
• Innovate and refine stack designs, materials, and processes, ensuring the longevity and quality of the products
• Support production and quality assurance teams in implementing streamlined processes
• Ensure timely achievement of project milestones, maintaining clear documentation and regular progress reports
• Champion quality assurance, ensuring the stack's durability and overall performance
• Align team efforts with the company's vision, driving progress toward our energy storage innovation goals

• Minimum of 3 years’ leadership experience in an industrial setting
• Deep knowledge of batteries, particularly flow batteries or stacks
• Strong technical background in electrochemistry or fluid dynamics
• Experience with plastics, polymers, or catalysts is a plus
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for leading and motivating diverse teams
• Fluent in written and spoken English; German skills are an advantage
• Proficiency in standard Office applications
