Day Camp Counselor

At the Y, we provide a safe place for kids to learn fundamental skills, build self-reliance, and find a greater sense of purpose. But most of all, Summer Day Camp at the Y offers an experience that is always so much fun. We offer camps across the metro-Milwaukee area — find the camp that’s perfect for you!

• Plan and lead engaging activities for campers, ensuring a fun and safe environment.
• Supervise and support campers during all camp activities, including meals, games, and field trips.
• Help in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere that aligns with the YMCA's values.
• Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and other staff to ensure a smooth camp experience.
• Assist in maintaining camp facilities and equipment, keeping them clean and organized.

• Must have a passion for working with children and creating a positive, fun environment.
• Ability to lead and engage groups of kids in various activities while ensuring their safety.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with campers, parents, and team members.
• Demonstrated commitment to the YMCA values of honesty, respect, and responsibility.
• Previous experience in a camp setting or similar role is preferred but not required.
