The YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee Early Childhood Education Centers provide a safe, nurturing environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our programs are designed to encourage children to develop a love of learning. Through the use of guided self-discovery and experiential learning, teachers focus on providing children with enriching experiences to facilitate social, emotional, cognitive and physical growth and development.
Tasks
- Create and implement fun and engaging lesson plans for young children.
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment to encourage children's social and emotional development.
- Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about their child's progress and needs.
- Organize activities that promote physical, mental, and emotional growth.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to maintain a supportive learning atmosphere.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with young children in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with kids, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to design and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans
- Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain them
