Tasks

Backend Engineer ( Contract / Full-Time / Remote)
We are looking for a full-time Software Engineer to join our product development team. You will join the backend team to help us build the essential components which will make our platform robust and scalable so that we can deploy it to municipalities around the world. We are looking for an experienced software engineer, who has proven experience building scalable backends with the tools and technologies we use to build our platform. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience designing and developing distributed web applications with a focus on backend.

Requirements

Role Responsibilities:
Development of a Spring based application with a microservice architecture;
Responsible for adhering to the architecture and follow industry standards and best practices
Responsible for the coordination of the API contracts to the other teams (mobile & web)
Responsible for the backend deployment and process (gitlab ci/cd)
Working with the technical architect, the test team, front-end and UI teams to ensure a smooth delivery of product features;
Conduct code reviews;
Responsible for code quality;
Take part in our agile development process and coordinate other backend developers;

Who we are looking for:
Bsc or Msc in computer science or a related field;
3+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer;
Previous experience working remotely;
Strong software design skills;
Strong algorithmic skills;
Willing to learn new technologies;
Excellent English speaking skills (writing and verbal);
EU Timezone Candidates (CET +/- 2)Tools and Technologies:
Object Oriented Programming with Java;
Spring Framework;Microservice Architectures;
Strong understanding of source control management and CI/CD;
Experience with Git source control management;
Gitlab CI/CD;

Nice to have:
WebFlux, RxJava;
PhD in Computer science or a related field;
Experience with Kubernetes;
Experience with Streaming technologies such as Kafka;
Experience with payment gateways such as Stripe;
Experience with routing algorithms;
Experience building SaaS products;
Experience in building products that are powered by big-data.
