We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead engineering and technological advancements in our waste-to-energy solutions at our new Slovakia office. The ideal candidate has strong leadership in engineering, expertise in thermodynamics and energy conversion, and a track record in optimizing complex systems. This role requires strategic thinking, regulatory compliance, and collaboration with research institutions and industry partners to drive innovation. We seek professionals with excellent problem-solving skills, a results-driven mindset, and experience managing international projects and multidisciplinary teams.

Tasks

  • Oversee engineering operations, optimizing R&D, design, and technology development processes;
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance technological innovation and cost-effective solutions;
  • Lead the engineering team in developing and optimizing waste-to-energy systems;
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and environmental standards;
  • Collaborate with design teams using advanced simulation and modeling tools;
  • Manage relationships with regulatory bodies, research institutions, and technology partners;
  • Supervise budgets, resources, and timelines for engineering projects;
  • Work closely with manufacturing, procurement, and project management teams to ensure quality and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Power Engineering (or related fields);
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering leadership, preferably in power engineering, mechanical engineering, renewable energy, or industrial plant design;
  • Strong background in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and energy conversion processes;
  • Expertise in computational modeling and process simulation (e.g., ANSYS, ChemCAD, ASPEN HYSYS);
  • Knowledge of materials engineering for high-temperature and corrosive environments;
  • Familiarity with international industry standards (ISO, ASME, API, IEC) and environmental regulations;
  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills;
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to manage international projects and multidisciplinary teams.
