Head of Growth

Employee
Marketing Manager
60.000 € to 90.000 € / year

**To the keen observer, yes, we do indeed have multiple job ads going in marketing right now with the roughly same description: CMO, Head of Growth, and Demand Gen Specialist.

That’s because we’re looking for that rare personality who’s both a strategic leader and a get-sh*t-done executor.

That first pillar to build our world-class marketing organization around; and we can build both top-down (starting with someone highly experienced who can execute like their life depended on it 🦸‍♀️), or bottom-up (starting with a diamond in the rough who's too smart for their own good 🚀).

So, who are we?

Responsibly is a fast-growing and VC-backed start-up operating at the cutting edge of AI and sustainability, and with a vision of making every purchase in the world responsible.

We're founded by serial entrepreneurs with previous successes like Ofload, Dixa, Neurons, and more, and are funded by some of Europe's top VCs and angels.

We’re at the most exciting part of our journey (yet!) where the product is being picked up by some of the biggest companies out there without a single $ being spent on marketing, and we have an incredibly exciting roadmap ahead of us! 🤘

Let’s change the world together 🎯

Look, you probably already know that there are not many bigger problems out there than the climate, but did you know that more than 40% of global emissions, or really any ESG issue, are directly or indirectly impacted by procurement? That’s because companies have an incredible amount of power (‘purchasing power’) when selecting and managing suppliers, so if we can put sustainability on every supplier scorecard out there, we really can change the world.

But it’s hard! A company will have anywhere from 100 - 100,000 suppliers and analyzing each of their sustainability efforts is an impossible task, and most ESG ratings suck.

That’s what we’re trying to change. Responsibly's ai-powered due diligence engine automates the due diligence on every supplier across every single esg data point on your suppliers (from risk and violations to positive actions), and turns that into insights to ultimately help companies build more sustainable supply chains.

Pretty cool right?

It also means that the value is incredibly easily demonstrated, as soon as a customer uploads a list of suppliers, the due diligence instantly starts processing, delivering results and wow moments straight away. Oh yeah, and every supplier has the potential of becoming a customer as well. If that doesn’t get your PLG juices flowing (🤦‍♂️), then I don’t know what will 😉

Tasks

What you’ll be doing 🙌

You’re not starting from scratch, but you kinda are.

We have a pretty cool brand, visual identity, and decent awareness and credibility in a highly specialized industry. We’ve received important industry accolades (gartner cool vendor, procuretech100, etc.), and have a founder with a lot of expertise and a decent thought leadership game on LinkedIn and podcasts (https://www.linkedin.com/in/thomasbuchandersson/).

We’re getting a fair amount of inbound almost purely on word of mouth and thought leadership, but we’re not spending a single $ on marketing, and instead have a strong sales engine that’s creating most of our growth today.

You’re here to change that; to empower our sales team, kickstart our PLG motions, and launch our next stage of growth.

The role is highly execution focused, and pending your experience, the founder and CEO will collaborate closely on strategy, analytics, and leadership.

That means:

Strategy:

  • What channels, what messages, what resources to spend and where.
  • Focus and strong prioritization.

Execution

  • Copy and conversion mechanisms on marketing website
  • Ads on Google, LinkedIn(?), Meta(?)
  • Thought leadership and SEO(?)
  • Creative media
  • Conference and sales support
  • Guerilla marketing ideas
  • PLG mechanisms and freemium/supplier directed growth workflows/experiences
  • From idea to final execution (outsourcing where needed) incl. copy and creatives

Analytics

  • Are we getting bang for our buck. We need a strong attribution link, and need to be able to clearly demonstrate meetings booked into the sales pipeline, possibly conversion to customers, to allow us to increase the marketing budget.

Leadership:

  • Small team. You’ll get as a minimum an intern or student to help you execute as fast as possible, and potentially a demand gen specialist and a growth focused engineer - but we’ll like your input on what we need.
  • Close collaboration with founder and CEO
  • Access to operations, sales, and engineering tea

Requirements

So who do we think is the magician that can do all of that? 🧙

  1. Growth experience: you have experience in growth / demand-gen marketing for SaaS
  2. Start-up experience: you have experience in the early stages of a start-up, and/or later stages and have seen how successful marketing functions are organized. Most importantly, you are the one to create the playbook, and doesn't need an existing playbook to get started.
  3. SaaS experience: you have experience in SaaS and Enterprise communications + collaborating with sales
  4. Analytical and structured: you can easily navigate around analytical tools and excel to communicate in clear KPIs what’s working and what isn’t
  5. Creative: you can innovate and be creative with anything from visuals, to copy, to ideas.
  6. Keen eye and a flair for design: UX and UI is highly important to us. You have a keen eye for these things and can execute your own things easily in e.g. Canva, or easily judge and lead outsourced design work.
  7. Growth mindset and ambition: you want to be the best at what you do, love to learn, and thrive in a fast-moving environment
  8. High degree of ownership: you take ownership of your work, lead it independently, and attack unfamiliar problems with enthusiasm and a bias for action.
  9. Get-sh*t-done attitude: you’re impatient, results-focused, and want to execute and get your hands dirty. You’re motivated by results and progress.
  10. Resourcefulness: whatever you’ll need to succeed you’ll find and use; whether in your network, outsourced help, or convincing the CEO to give you more resources.
