The Sales Manager – Mining Sector will lead the development and expansion of the company’s grinding media business within Ghana’s mining industry. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth, acquiring new mining accounts, strengthening existing client relationships, and ensuring sustainable market penetration across major gold mining operations.
The successful candidate will operate with significant autonomy while aligning with overall group sales strategy and performance targets.
Tasks
- Drive sales of grinding media products to gold mining companies across Ghana.
Identify, target, and secure new mining accounts. - Expand sales volumes within existing accounts through strategic relationship management.
- Develop and execute a structured sales strategy for market penetration.
- Achieve agreed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers
- Maintain high visibility within assigned mining operations.
- Ensure excellent customer service and prompt resolution of client concerns.
- Manage approved vendor registration processes within mining companies.
- Lead preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals.
- Navigate procurement cycles, tender processes, and contract negotiations.
- Understand and position products effectively within both CAPEX and OPEX budgets.
- Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market dynamics.
- Gather intelligence on mine production volumes and grinding media consumption patterns.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on market insights.
- Track pipeline development and sales performance metrics.
- Prepare and submit monthly sales performance reports to Group Management.
- Coordinate closely with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery.
- Monitor stock levels and anticipate client reorder cycles
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, Mining, Metallurgy, or related field.
- MBA or relevant professional certification is an advantage.
- Minimum 7–15 years’ proven sales experience within Ghana’s mining sector.
- Demonstrated success selling products or services to mining companies (e.g., reagents, explosives, drill bits, equipment, PPE, lubricants, mining services, or consumables).
- Experience in grinding media or comminution consumables is a strong advantage.
- Proven existing relationships within major mining operations in Ghana.
