Products are the core of our business. We aim to offer the best product range, to make sure we always deliver the best quality. We are on the hunt for a Food Safety & Quality Expert with superb knowledge about food laws & regulation. You will take ownership of Picnic's food and safety quality processes and standards, ensuring 100% compliance with the latest food safety regulations. This includes creating new processes, setting internal standards and running day to day food quality operations. You will collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including category managers, supply chain professionals, customer service teams, suppliers and third-party testing services.
🎯 What you’ll do
- Take ownership of Picnic's food and safety quality processes and standards, ensuring 100% compliance with the latest food safety regulations.
- Stay updated on new food laws and regulations, and keep the category team informed of relevant developments.
- Collaborate closely with our category managers to streamline the label checking process and take responsibility for ensuring that all our labels adhere to legal requirements.
- Coordinate microbiological & listeria testing process, interpret and summarize results, and provide guidance to our category managers on improvement plans.
- Work in close partnership with our supply chain, customer service teams, and category managers to run and improve recall processes, and have the confidence to make recall decisions based on your expertise.
- Together with our category managers, oversee supplier performance to maintain high standards.
- Coordinate certification processes for all suppliers and products.
⭐ About you
- MSc. degree in Food Safety, Food Technology, or equivalent
- At least 2 years of experience in the food safety industry, preferably in the retail industry
- A genuine passion for food safety
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
- You enjoy working in a young, dynamic environment and you have a strong sense of responsibility
- You are full of ideas to improve current operations
- Drive to deal with day-to-day operations with swift problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and love a good challenge
- Fluent in English and Dutch
