- Create briefings or edit notes that clearly communicate the editorial vision to editors.
- Review edits, providing detailed feedback to editors, animators, and voiceover artists to ensure videos are engaging, accurate, and aligned with Astrum’s voice.
- Manage and lead fact-checkers on scripts and visuals to maintain the channel's reputation for accuracy and reliability.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to manage editors, animators, voiceover artists, and other freelancers.
- Organise project assets, scripts, and deliverables efficiently within storage systems.
- Maintain project tracking tools (e.g., Monday.com) to ensure all editorial stages are recorded and updated.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience as an Edit Producer or in a similar editorial production role, ideally within documentary, educational content, or digital video production.
- Exceptional storytelling and script editing skills, with a proven track record of shaping strong narratives from research to final cut.
- Strong organisational skills with experience managing complex editorial workflows.
- Familiarity with post-production workflows, especially for YouTube content or digital-first video.
- Passionate about astronomy, Earth sciences, or educational content.
- Fluent English speaker with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Benefits
- Flexible workplace: remote-first with flexible hours.
- Competitive compensation (depending on experience and skills).
- The opportunity to work with one of YouTube’s premier science brands and help build a new channel from the ground up.
- A variety of projects and creative freedom within a small, passionate team.
- Regular team meetups in Europe.
- A role with real impact, working on content that inspires millions of people around the world.
