About us
Youth Initiative for Climate Action-Sierra Leone (YICA-SL) is a is a youth-led non-profit organization dedicated to addressing climate change and environmental issues in Sierra Leone through policy advocacy, peer-to-peer capacity building for youth in climate action, community organizing, leading youth-led climate adaptation and resilience project, and awareness raising. YICA-SL envisions a sustainable and resilient future where young people are actively engaged in climate action, environmental protection, and community development.
Mission
Mission: YICA-SL's mission is to empower and mobilize young people in Sierra Leone to become effective advocates, leaders, and changemakers in the fight against climate change and its impacts.
Objectives:
- Raise awareness about climate change and its local implications.
- Build capacity and skills among youth for climate action and sustainable development.
- Promote community engagement and partnerships for environmental conservation.
- Advocate for policy changes that prioritize climate resilience and sustainable practices.Showcasing youth-led initiatives and solutions for climate adaptation and mitigation
