A Cloud Consultant designs, plans and deploys AWS-based solutions while collaborating with customers and internal teams to optimize their cloud infrastructure, automation, and security. Focus is on understanding customers’ pain points and recommend and implement suitable solutions.
Tasks
A Cloud Consultant works in collaboration on customer projects. She/he acts as a member of a project team with other colleagues, customers’ staff, and/or staff of other partners. On small projects, the Cloud Consultant often acts on her/his own together with the customer.
Duties and responsibilities are:
Identify requirements of customers’ use cases
- Understand the pain points of the customers.
- Independently collect and analyze customer requirements for straightforward use cases.
Develop solution architecture
- Propose solutions with respect to cost, effort, time and best practices
- explain options and help decide to best benefit customers’ need
Implement and configure a wide range of AWS services
Troubleshoot AWS-related issues
Manage and Contribute to Projects
- Manage small (up to 1 FTE) projects, support in medium-sized projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions
- Provide target group-oriented information about the project tasks and their desired solution, project status (in their area of work)
Enablement
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior (and other) consultants
- Provide technical guidance to customers during the project.
- Stay current with AWS services, features, best practices, and related general trends and technology
Communicate
- Develop and deliver client presentations
- Develop and deliver technical documentation
- Contribute to pre-sales activities by acting as the technical expert.
- Efficiently explain complex facts, solutions, architectures in a way that is appropriate to the target audience.
Requirements
Position requires 1-3 years of experience
In Cloud Computing or Consulting (IT Focus)
- AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification (required)
- AWS Solutions Architect Professional or other AWS Professional/Specialty Level Certification (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of AWS services, architecture patterns, and best practices
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript)
- Excellent project management and client communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team on a single or multiple projects
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to technical challenges.
