As proud members of the applike group, our primary focus is on leveraging their cutting-edge advertising technology to deliver smart, player-friendly monetization and contribute to a thriving mobile ecosystem. Supported by Bertelsmann, Europe's largest media company, we are equipped with the resources to push the boundaries of the mobile gaming space.

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mid-Level QA Engineer to own the quality assurance process for our games. You will play a vital role in ensuring that every build meets the highest standards, from early-stage testing to live monitoring, while mentoring junior team members and collaborating across departments.

What will you do:

  • Team Engagement:
  • Actively participate in daily stand-ups, engaging with team discussions and aligning on priorities.
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and product owners to understand features and identify potential risks.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance:
  • Independently manage and execute testing tasks, including writing and maintaining detailed test cases.
  • Oversee and manage app test cycles, ensuring timely and thorough coverage.
  • Take ownership of release testing, guaranteeing each build meets company quality standards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for defects, working closely with stakeholders to identify and resolve issues.
  • Use analytical tools to monitor live performance and identify bottlenecks, such as bugs or level inefficiencies.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain and update the QA Confluence page with relevant processes, test plans, and guidelines.
  • Share findings and insights during sprint reviews, retrospectives, and planning sessions
  • Mentorship & Support:
  • Provide guidance and best practices to junior and intern QA testers, supporting their growth and development.
  • Ownership:
  • Take responsibility for writing and implementing test cases, maintaining a high standard of quality assurance.
  • Release builds with minimal bugs, ensuring a polished and seamless player experience.
  • Independence & Leadership:
  • Work independently without supervision while providing limited guidance to less experienced team members.
  • Product Expertise:
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of priority products, staying up-to-date with the latest features and changes.
  • Sprint Contribution:
  • Actively participate in sprint planning and retrospectives, addressing QA challenges and contributing to process improvements.

Who you are:

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in quality assurance in mobile game development.
  • Proficiency in QA tools for testing, bug tracking, and live monitoring (e.g., JIRA, Firebase, or similar).
  • Ability to write and manage detailed test cases and reports.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Familiarity with mobile game mechanics and trends.
  • Strong analytical skills to conduct root cause analysis and recommend solutions.
  • Nice-to-Have:
  • Experience mentoring junior team members or interns.
  • Familiarity with Unity or other game engines is a plus.

Why you will love working here:

  • Work-Life Package: 2 remote days per week, 30 vacation days, 3 weeks per year of remote work, flexible working hours, dog-friendly kick-ass office in the center of the city.
  • Relocation Package: Visa & legal support, relocation bonus, reimbursement of German Classes costs, and more.
