The Role
We’re looking for a Level 2 Field Engineer to join our growing team in Virginia. This role is perfect for a hands-on IT professional who thrives in client-facing environments, excels in troubleshooting, and enjoys working with diverse technologies.
Tasks
- Provide comprehensive on-site and remote support services for client IT environments, ensuring seamless operations and addressing any technical issues that may arise.
- Manage and maintain Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022), including Active Directory, Group Policy, and file/print services.
- Support and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace environments.
- Patch management, firmware updates, and system monitoring.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently. Deploy, configure, and support various networking devices to ensure optimal connectivity.
- Implement security best practices and assist with developing and deploying cybersecurity solutions to protect client data and systems.
- Act as an escalation point for Level 1 technicians, offering guidance and assisting in their technical mentorship to enhance team capabilities.
- Document solutions meticulously, troubleshoot effectively, and consistently deliver excellent customer service to exceed client expectations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) are preferred. Sec+, Net+.
- 2+ years of experience in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment, demonstrating the ability to handle a variety of technical challenges and client requests efficiently.
- Client-facing experience with exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, ensuring effective interaction and resolution of client issues.
- Proficiency in Windows Server management, Microsoft 365, and Google Workspace, showcasing strong technical abilities in managing and maintaining these critical systems.
- Networking knowledge (switching, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs), enabling the setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of network-related issues proficiently.
- Experience with RMM and PSA tools preferred, as these tools are essential for monitoring and managing client networks effectively.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment and perform tasks on client sites as needed
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for client site visits.
