PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS ROLE IS BASED IN CENTRAL AFRICA
Our client is a group of agro-industrial plantation companies, active in Central and West Africa as well as in Southeast Asia.
The industrial management of the plantation generally consists of 3 industrial units:
- Oil mill
- Rubber factory
- Garage and workshops
Tasks
- Technical management of garages/workshops, fleet (+50 vehicles) and generators (max 2,000 kVa)
- Supervision of industrial unit staff (±40 workers, supervisors and executives)
- Inventory management and supply monitoring
- Monitoring of the operational budget and control of expenses
- Administrative preparation of technical monitoring reports
- Training of staff (local and expatriate)
Requirements
- A candidate with academic background: level of industrial engineer in auto-mechanics Bac +4 or equivalent
- minimum 5 years of professional experience relevant in Africa or Asia
- Young at heart, dynamic, a "Field Person" (most of his time in the industrial unit, much less in the offices). Enthusiastic with a "hands on" personality, not afraid to get his hands dirty in several areas. "Leader by example" behavior.
- Mastery of organizational and management tools (personnel, stocks, pdr, budget, planning, maintenance organization
- Fluent in English and/or French (spoken and written)
- Strong technical/repair versatility (auto-mechanics, car electrics, bodywork, hydraulics, pneumatics, VL, PL, Heavy Machinery (CAT Type) and Generators.
- At least 5 years in Africa in the agri-food/plantation sector and palm oil/sugar cane mill, if possible
- Stable person, resistant to the challenges inherent in an assignment in an isolated site
- Ability to tolerate life on a plantation and the distance from urban centres
- Excellent team leader: contact person with a leadership spirit
- Predisposition to collaboration and sense of hierarchy
- Open and sociable personality during and outside working hours
- Be competent, dynamic, efficient and very ‘result-oriented’
