Logistics Manager

A major client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize all logistics, warehousing, and transportation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing bonded warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with customs and regulatory requirements, and maintaining efficient inventory and distribution systems.

The role requires a strong background in warehouse management, stock control, transportation planning, and supply chain coordination, with a focus on operational efficiency, cost optimization, and compliance.

Bonded Warehousing & Compliance

• Oversee the operations of bonded warehouses in compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division) regulations.
• Ensure accurate documentation, clearance processes, and reporting for all bonded goods.
• Manage import/export logistics, ensuring compliance with customs laws and procedures.
• Liaise with customs officials, freight forwarders, and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure timely reconciliation of bonded stock and submission of required reports.

2. Warehousing Operations Management

• Manage day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, and dispatch.
• Ensure efficient space utilization and warehouse layout optimization.
• Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations.
• Supervise warehouse staff and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards.
• Maintain proper documentation for all warehouse activities.

3. Inventory & Stock Management

• Oversee inventory control systems to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
• Implement FIFO/FEFO stock management practices where applicable.
• Conduct regular stock counts, audits, and reconciliations.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment.
• Investigate and resolve stock variances.

4. Logistics & Transportation Management

• Plan and coordinate transportation of goods from warehouse to clients or distribution points.
• Optimize delivery routes and transportation costs.
• Manage relationships with transporters and third-party logistics providers.
• Ensure timely and safe delivery of goods.
• Monitor fleet performance (if applicable) and logistics KPIs.

5. Supply Chain Coordination

• Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales teams to ensure smooth supply chain flow.
• Align warehouse operations with production schedules and customer demand.
• Support forecasting and demand planning processes.

6. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Implement warehouse safety standards and conduct regular safety audits.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of goods to prevent damage or loss.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in logistics and warehouse management, preferably within manufacturing, packaging, or FMCG sectors.
• Strong experience in bonded warehousing operations and customs compliance is mandatory.
