Your role and goals

Productsup is currently seeking a Head of FP&A to join its finance team. You will be responsible for overseeing the company's financial planning, budgeting, and analysis processes, as well as maintaining up-to-date P&L and cashflow forecasts, working in close collaboration with the CEO, CFO, Senior Leadership Team, and heads of department. Your primary goal is to provide critical insights and data-driven recommendations to aid decision-making at the executive level and support the company's growth objectives. Heading the FP&A team, you will lead by example and ensure quality of end results as well as efficiency through process optimization, individual coaching as well as respective tools implementation.

In your first 3 months, you will:

  • Swiftly familiarize yourself with Productsup's business, processes, and tools, as well as with the company's unique operating model
  • Proactively engage with the finance and accounting teams to comprehend existing financial systems, reporting structures, and analytical tools
  • Take over and lead the FP&A team.

In your first 6 months and beyond you will:

  • Either evolve the existing Financial Operating Model or build a new Dynamic Model, which will facilitate the introduction of Rolling Forecasts and can be updated on a regular basis with little additional effort
  • Update the Financial Operating model with monthly actuals, addressing forecast risks proactively
  • Maintain tight control on headcount movements, collaborating closely with CPCO and Talent Acquisition
  • Evolve top-down cash forecasting in the business and work towards maximum alignment of this approach with the 13-week bottom-up cash flow forecasts, in conjunction with the Head of Finance
  • Maintain the company’s Financial Operating model to ensure close tracking of Productsup’s overall financial performance incl. EBITDA and cash flow
  • Lead the monthly FP&A close process, including management reporting and variance analysis, and preparing the Board materials
  • Introduce a new suite of monthly/quarterly reports for senior departmental heads, which will allow them to have a far greater understanding of their own cost bases, the impact of decisions that they take, and the tracking of their cost bases to ensure achievement of agreed targets
  • Act as a finance Business Partner to the Senior Leadership Team; provide support for commercial and people-related proposals
  • Lead the 2024 forecasting as well as next year’s budgeting process
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses or projects such as profitability, collections forecasting, contract pricing, and FX impacts.

What you bring to the team

  • As you have lead FP&A teams before, you are experienced in structuring, planning, executing as well as technically supporting (also via tools) the creation and delivery of business planning, budgets, forecasts, business unit specific reportings, management reports as well as supervisory board materials
  • Advanced Excel modeling skills
  • Desire to become a modeling expert by mastering all inputs, assumptions, model logic, etc
  • High attention to detail
  • Used to deal with confidential information; trustworthy & honest
  • Ability to work independently & meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, working directly with C-suite managers
  • Collaborative style of teamwork and ability to lead and coach the FP&A team
  • Proactive communication approach and data driven thought leadership
  • Experience in the SaaS sector
  • Experience using Datev, Quickbooks, and Salesforce.
