Sales Development Representative (SDR)
We are looking for ambitious colleagues that are to join our dynamic and young team. You will have the exciting opportunity of gaining valuable sales experience in a start-up environment and contribute to reducing 4.4% of global CO₂ emissions. Candidates must possess native-level proficiency in English and at least one of the following languages: German, French, Dutch (Belgium), or Spanish

Podero is a software platform that enables energy providers like E.ON or Oekostrom to manage flexible electrical consumers such as heat pumps, electric cars, and batteries according to the electricity market. Learn more about us here:

Tasks

Organization:

  • You independently select customer groups, extract addresses from our database, and integrate them into our CRM system, Hubspot.
  • You manage your own customer pipeline in Hubspot.
  • You document all customer interactions in detail and in real time in Hubspot.

Sales:

  • You proactively contact customers via phone, email, and LinkedIn.
  • You qualify potential customers using a conversation guide over the phone.
  • You accompany us to events and trade fairs.
  • Over time, you develop your own scripts and sales methods.

Your Skills / Attributes:

  • Ambition: Achieving and exceeding goals motivates you!
  • Practical sales experience is a big plus but not necessarily required. Any other experience where you proactively engaged with customers is also a plus.
  • Resilience and the willingness to persist despite rejection and obstacles.
  • Strong interest in communication, applied psychology, and/or business. A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Independent and proactive working style.
  • Excellent communication skills.

For a position in sales, it’s also important to us that you have a natural talent for—and even enjoy—communication. As an SDR, it will be crucial for you to ask good questions and confidently represent Podero externally.

You are capable of independently developing and implementing solutions, and you work autonomously. We are not a corporation, so if you're looking for a "by-the-book" job, this is not the place for you. However, our team dynamic is much closer-knit than that of any corporate environment—and perhaps even most startups.

About Us

Energy suppliers face many challenges in their B2C business, including low margins, low differentiation of their electricity offers, emerging market players, unprofitable electricity trading, and limited IT resources.

Podero is a software platform for utilities that reduces the energy cost of flexible consumer devices like heat pumps, EVs and chargers, inverters, and home batteries by over 25%. Utilities roll out Podero using our white-label web app or integrating our API into their apps. Podero steers devices based on consumers’ PV production, fluctuating spot electricity prices, and the grid-stabilizing balancing energy markets. Podero enables utilities to trade the aggregate device power on the energy markets, ensuring a win-win situation for both utilities and consumers.

Mission

Our vision is to accelerate towards a world of abundant clean energy 🌍 How? By creating the most profitable trading software for electric devices (Distributed Energy Resources).

We are solving one of the most fundamental problems of the electricity grid caused by the rapid consumer adoption of Distributed Energy Resources like heat pumps, EVs, and batteries, and the simultaneous exponential growth of renewable power generation. Renewables like solar and wind cause spikes in production, while Distributed Energy Resources cause spikes in consumption — unfortunately, mostly at opposite times.

We balance supply and demand in electricity markets by utilizing existing consumer devices as energy storage. Each time we shift the electricity use of consumer devices to match supply and demand, our software makes profitable trades, benefiting consumers and utilities. This balances the grid, which means that more consumers can use CO2-friendly Distributed Energy Resources and more renewables can be brought online.
