Senior Payroll Specialist

In a nutshell

Thanks to our Shoppers and Runners, all Picnic customers can have their food delivered on time. They are extremely valuable to the entire Picnic supply chain, without them our business could not continue to run smoothly.

As our Senior Payroll Specialist you will be co-responsible for the four-weekly payroll of the entire company and will take over the communication with our payroll provider. You will work with various internal and external stakeholders and be part of the finance team. However, we are on a journey to constantly scale our business and running a smooth payroll is critical, this means that besides the recurring payroll activities you’ll get involved in various improvement processes, such further integrating our software to third-party providers, participate in the year-end audit and perform ad-hoc analysis together with the People team.

Tricks of the trade

• Salary payment control: Review, approve, and control four-weekly salary payments.
• Payment process development: Continuously develop our payment process, including participation in tech initiatives to create a scalable homegrown system solution.
• Payroll accounting: Prepare and execute payroll accounting for a defined group of employees.
• Payment changes: Maintain and track all changes that may affect payments, such as employees leaving.
• Employee care: Handle all payroll-related tasks and ensure the well-being of employees, including pension registration, timely sick pay, and coordination of social security communication with UWV.
• Stakeholder management: Manage numerous internal and external stakeholders involved in the payment process.

Your superpowers

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, HR or similar
• Very good knowledge of MS Excel or Google Sheet (if possible VBA and/or JavaScript knowledge)
• 4-5 years experience in the fields of payroll, payments, HR or Finance
• Initial experience with an HCM system is advantageous
• A very responsible and accurate way of working
• Ability to effectively set priorities and communicate payment progress
• Fluent in Dutch and English
