Compliance Analyst (Merchant Risk)

Passport. io, part of the global Paymentwall Group, is looking for a Compliance Analyst with focus on Merchant Risk, to join our growing Cairo team. You’ll play a key role in assessing merchants during onboarding, monitoring for fraud and risk indicators, managing escalations, and supporting payout decisions. Tasks
- Assess & Monitor Risk: Review merchant onboarding, business models, and compliance. Monitor for fraud, chargebacks, and unusual patterns.
- Handle Escalations: Manage complex merchant cases and payout reviews in coordination with internal teams.
- Analyze & Report: Track key metrics (chargebacks, refunds, volumes) and deliver insights to improve risk strategy.
- Support Compliance: Assist with audits, due diligence, and documentation of risk policies.
- Drive Improvements: Suggest workflow enhancements, identify process gaps, and help train internal teams.
Requirements
- 2–5 years’ experience in risk, fraud, or compliance (ideally in payments or fintech)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets (BI tools a plus)
- Familiarity with AML, KYC/KYB, chargebacks, and transaction monitoring tools
- Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently
