A prestigious group of hospitals and clinics specializing in Radiology and specializing Radiation Oncology in Germany is looking for a General Practitioner to undertake their Specialization Position (Facharztausbildung) in this specialty.

The residency takes place in a highly professional clinical environment, with state-of-the-art medical technology and a multidisciplinary team focused on patient care. The goal is to obtain the official title of specialist in Radiology and Radiation Oncology upon completion of the training program, in accordance with the requirements set by the German Medical Chamber (Ärztekammer).

The duration of the specialization is 60 months (5 years), with an official training plan covering all required competencies in medical imaging, nuclear medicine, and radiological therapies.

Tasks

STRUCTURE OF THE TRAINING – RADIOLOGY SPECIALTY

Duration:

5 years (60 months) of supervised training.

  • Minimum of 36 months in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology.
  • Up to 12 months in related fields (Nuclear Medicine, Neuroradiology, etc.).
  • At least 24 months in a hospital with continuous care (on-call duties included).

Training Content:

  • Image interpretation (X-ray, CT, MRI)
  • Interventional procedures
  • Radiation protection
  • Clinical management and interdisciplinary teamwork

STRUCTURE OF THE TRAINING – RADIATION ONCOLOGY SPECIALTY

Duration:

5 years (60 months) of supervised training.

  • 4 years (48 months) of specialized training in Radiation Oncology
  • Minimum of 6 months in Internal Medicine or a related specialty

(such as Medical Oncology, Hematology, or Palliative Care)

  • Maximum of 6 months optional training in related specialties

(rotations in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, Surgical Oncology, or others)

Documentation for Both Specialties:

  • Training must be recorded in an official logbook (Logbuch).

Final Exam for Both Specialties:

  • Oral examination before the Ärztekammer (Medical Chamber) board.
  • Completion of the entire Logbuch is required.

Medical Language Exam (Fachsprachprüfung) for Both Specialties:

  • C1 level in medical German.
  • Practical oral exam focused on comprehension, communication with patients, and report writing.

patient care.

Competitive salary with annual increases:
First year: approximately €4,800 – €5,200 gross/month.
Last year: approximately €6,000 – €6,500 gross/month.
With shifts and on-call duties: the possibility of reaching €7,000 or more in
some cases.
• Opportunity to continue working in the same center after completing the residency
or find another center.
