Bioinformatician / Data Scientist (m/f/d)

Ready for an exciting biotech startup? We are looking for you! We are a startup in the field of genetic diagnostics. Our mission is to improve the lives of people with cancer by developing and providing tools to better understand and manage cancer. We achieve this by using liquid biopsies to identify a patient's individual genetic cancer signature through a blood sample and tracking it throughout the course of their disease.

Tasks

Your task will be to support us in our mission with your expertise in Bioinformatics and Data Science. Some of your tasks will include:

• Explore and visualize complex biological data to gain insights and support research goals
• Run, maintain, and improve existing bioinformatics and analysis pipelines in an IVD environment
• Implement innovative analysis methods for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data
• Maintain and enhance our current systems to ensure robustness and scalability

What We’re Looking For

• A relevant university degree (MSc, BSc + solid experience, or equivalent); a PhD is a plus, but definitely not required
• 2+ years of hands-on experience in bioinformatics or related fields
• Experience in statistical analysis & visualization of large datasets
• Strong proficiency in Python (bonus points for experience with other languages)
• Working knowledge of command-line tools (Linux, Bash) and version control with Git

Nice to Haves

• Experience with developing and implementing bioinformatics pipelines
• Familiarity with machine learning/deep learning techniques
• Comfortable working in high-performance computing (HPC) environments
• Basic understanding of software development practices
• Experience writing and validating medical device software
