About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Expert - Inclusive Employment to lead the development and implementation of inclusive employment practices across our program countries. You will play a key role in driving the inclusive employment agenda, providing expert guidance, and supporting the creation of high-quality standards and strategies to ensure diverse and inclusive workplaces where employees with disabilities can thrive. Working closely with our Technical Advisory Services team and external stakeholders, you will strengthen our global impact by fostering partnerships and sharing knowledge to advance inclusive employment initiatives.

Tasks

  • Strategic Advice: Collaborate with the Head of Technical Advisory Services to ensure a coherent, system-wide approach to inclusive employment as part of Light for the World’s Economic Empowerment Strategy. Provide support to Country Directors in Multi Annual Planning and the development of country strategies for inclusive employment.
  • Inclusive Employment Advisory Services: Offer strategic guidance to donors, partners, employers, and employer networks on creating diverse and inclusive workplaces. Share lessons learned from various countries to enrich the global conversation on inclusive employment and contribute to sector-wide knowledge generation.
  • Capacity Development: Lead the creation of training curricula, e-courses, and materials related to inclusive employment. Deliver training sessions for Inclusive Employment Officers and program staff, as well as external stakeholders. Facilitate virtual and in-person thematic learning events, career fairs, and exchanges with business and disability networks.
  • Program Quality & Coherence: Develop technical guidelines for inclusive employment practices, such as reasonable accommodation in the workplace and inclusive HR policies. Contribute to the development and monitoring of quality standards for inclusive employment programs, fostering continuous learning and innovation in the sector.
  • Research, Documentation, and Learning: Contribute to the development of research and knowledge products related to inclusive employment. Collaborate with the MERLA team to document good practices, conduct barrier analysis, and gather lessons learned to improve the effectiveness of inclusive employment initiatives.
  • Networking and Resource Mobilization: Act as a key liaison for strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as employer networks, the Global Business and Disability Network, and government agencies. Support the development of capacity statements, advocacy materials, and fundraising initiatives to advance inclusive employment globally.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in human resource development, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in human resource management, inclusive employment, or a related field, ideally with private sector experience.
  • Strong understanding of disability inclusion and experience working with organizations of persons with disabilities.
  • Proven experience in managing partnerships, including with governments and the private sector.
  • Fluent language skills in English (business language), French language skills would be an advantage.
  • Effective coaching, mentoring, and capacity-building skills.
  • Strong facilitation and training skills, with experience delivering both virtual and in-person learning sessions.
  • Innovative, strategic thinker, adaptable to changing environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant technology tools.
  • High levels of integrity, accountability, and a commitment to Light for the World’s mandate and values.
