
Data Engineering Manager
Location: Libourne, France ( Hybrid, 3 days per week)
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Language: French speaking is mandatory
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead the Data Engineering squad during a critical transition phase. The mission covers three parallel objectives :
•Bootstrap the future target Data Platform , whose stack is currently under validation and is expected to be based on Databricks or Snowflake on Microsoft Azure
•Migrate legacy data stacks progressively to the new platform
•Deliver ongoing business and client projects , both on legacy stacks and the new platform, without disrupting operations
This role requires strong leadership, execution discipline.
Key Responsibilities
•Lead and manage the Data Engineering squad (internal team and external partners)
•Own delivery, capacity, and operational performance across legacy and target platforms
•Ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and cost optimization
•Structure and drive the bootstrap of the target Data Platform
•Plan and execute the progressive migration from legacy to target stack
•Secure delivery of ongoing business and client projects on both stacks
•Define and enforce Data Engineering standards and ways of working
•Act as the main interface with Data Product, Architecture, and IT stakeholders
•Support and enable local Data teams on Data technology stacks
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience as Data Engineering Manager / Lead in complex, transitional environments
Strong background in data platforms and data engineering
Solid experience with Databricks and/or Snowflake , ideally on Azure
Experience managing mixed teams (internal, consultants, offshore/AMS)
Strong understanding of run, incident management, and cost control
Experience with legacy -to-target platform migration
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
