Tasks

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager (all genders) to lead our Platform Teams and play a pivotal role in advancing our platform infrastructure. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing 1 - 3 platform teams, working closely with product teams, and driving innovation in the developer experience.

Engineering Manager is the entry position in our Engineering Management Career Path and one possible follow up position for Senior Engineers who want to move into Management. This position reports to the Head of Developer Experience & Platform.

Your tasks – this is what awaits you in detail

• You have found your passion in software development - but you enjoy building the right team, removing roadblocks, helping others, creating transparency and alignment even more than being an individual contributor
• Depending on your experience you will be responsible for the engineering of 1-2 platform teams in our Developer Experience and Platform Area
• You are responsible for advancing your team members’ skills and careers and inspiring them through purpose
• You make sure that we leverage (new) technologies within our platform teams to improve the developer experience of our product teams
• You make sure we are continuously raising the engineering bar, with experience and passion for software excellence
• You are responsible for the delivery of your products while balancing time, budget and quality
• You develop, monitor and own the relevant KPIs for your teams (cost, SLAs, SLIs etc.)
• You contribute to our guidelines, policies, standards etc. to improve how we work

Profile

Your profile – this is what we expect from you

• You have a background in a platform or architecture team, where your primary focus was on enhancing developer experience and empowering product teams to efficiently utilize cloud and infrastructure ressources
• Your communication and interpersonal skills stand out, enabling effective collaboration with product teams
• You have previous experience managing product or platform teams
• Your approach is results-oriented, with a dedicated focus on delivering top-notch solutions
• Your problem-solving skills are robust, complemented by a proactive attitude
• You have several years of hands-on engineering experience with Go
