Head of Business Solutions (w/m/d)

Honda Bank GmbH (Honda Financial Services) as part of Honda Motor Europe Ltd. was founded in 1998 and is located in Frankfurt am Main (Germany). Since 2007 we also offer financial services for automobiles and motorcycles in Spain. Currently approx. 80 associates in Frankfurt/ Main and approx. 50 associates in Barcelona/ Spain take care of the steadily growing number of financed vehicles and leasing contracts.

• Provide key contribution from a Business Solutions viewpoint into the future strategy and direction of Honda Bank (HBG) in order to develop regulatory compliant systems & processes that deliver the future strategic direction of HBG in terms of volume and profit.
• Responsible for developing the HBG IT strategy for approval of the HBG Board of Directors (BOD), and implementation of the strategy.
• Deliver and drive innovation through change whilst maintaining stability in platforms.
• Responsible for innovating and delivering the IT Business Solutions in the short, medium and long term that deliver both the strategic goals of HBG and align with Honda Motor Europe DE (HME-DE) & Honda Motor Europe (HME) direction.
• Motivation and Management of direct reports in the Business Solutions department developing an annual departmental Business Plan and setting clear objectives to achieve the company’s overall objectives and strategy. Manage, develop and assess the team through the Appraisal process.
• Organisation of resource to cover all work required by the IT department to support the business requirements within HBG.
• Management and development of the strategy for the Business Solutions function to ensure strong stakeholder relationships are maintained.
• Management of Change Management to ensure all changes requested by the business are managed effectively.
• Establish methods of efficient and accurate reporting to ensure that future strategic direction within HBG through the effective use of information within the Senior Management Group (SMG) decision-making process.
• Manage and implement HBG procedures & policies as required.
• Review departmental reports to provide a basis for recommendations at HBG SMG meetings facilitating change in policy and direction as required.
• Recommend departmental process improvements and effectiveness through TQM principals.
• Review, understand, identify, and balance all elements that affect HBG risk and reward whilst maintaining a commercial viewpoint.
• Responsibility and accountability for Business Solutions budget, ensuring this is effectively controlled and managed and identify savings where possible.
• Responsibility and accountability for outsourcing contracts and budgets ensuring that these are effectively controlled and managed.
• Responsible for the management and relationship of the key core banking system suppliers (DE) to ensure they deliver and support HBG through change management & software upgrades to deliver stability and enhancements to the core banking platforms that deliver HBG future strategy & direction.
• Responsible for the development of the key core banking system to (ES) ensure the system delivers products and processes that support HBG’s future strategy & direction.
• Accountable for the management and delivery of projects / programmes, both large and small, through either an HPMM (Honda Project Management Methodology) oversight process or delivery in a more agile way to ensure projects / programmes are delivered on time and budget and with the support / approval of HBG Board of Directors, IT Board & Regional Operating Committee at all key stages.
• Responsible for the delivery of IT/Financial Services Committee and IT Board submissions and, if approved, the ongoing associated monthly reporting / updates with HME.
• Responsible for the management and relationship with HME-Information Services Department as part of the Service Operations model, including delivering reporting requirements.
• Manage the IT systems relationships with third party suppliers to develop and deliver quality systems to run our day-to-day business and deliver system changes to improve effectiveness in the business environment future proofing HBG’s strategic direction.
• Responsible for the system delivery of all legal and regulatory changes to ensure HBG compliance meets the Regulatory expectations.
• Responsible for all Audit processes within the Business Solutions team including Corporate Governance, Business Continuity Management, Information Security.
• Involvement within HBG Board of Directors meetings in the development and implementation of delivering the overall strategic direction for the HBG business.

• Experience of core banking solutions and how these interface into a wider landscape of sub-systems within a motor finance context.
• Experience of a business change function within the financial services industry, preferably motor finance.
• Understanding and exposure to a point of sale / proposal management, contract management and wholesale systems used within a captive motor finance company.
• Experience of managing projects or objectives on time within set budget to the required standards.
• Ability to solve issues through a structured approach.
• Understanding of how objectives can be delivered through systems and processes.
• Understanding of EU, German and Spanish Banking regulations.
• Implement measurable improvement plans, following TQM (Total Quality Management) processes such as PDCA.
• People management experience including leading, managing, supporting, coaching and developing a team.
• Experience in motivating a cross-border team with effective communication to deliver its objectives and mutual goals.
• Willingness to travel
