Tasks

  • Mechanical Designs: Produce Mechanical Designs of the redox flow battery prototypes.
  • Electrolyte Flow and Circulation System Construction: Design and construct the electrolyte flow and circulation system, including the sizing, arrangement, and specification of pipes, valves, and pumps.
  • Balance of Plant (BoP) System Design: Develop and optimize the BoP system with a strong focus on achieving minimum energy consumption for efficient operation.
  • BoP Component Selection and Compliance: Select and design BoP components in compliance with relevant standards and regulations, such as the Pressure Equipment Directive and IEC standards for energy storage systems.
  • Cost-Effective BoP Optimization for Production: Refine BoP designs to streamline volume production, including simplifying assemblies and reducing material and machining costs for cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Technical Documentation and Part Specification: Create detailed technical documentation, including drawings and parts lists, to support production and maintenance processes.
  • Supplier Collaboration and Quality Assurance: Work closely with suppliers to specify, procure, and quality test BoP components, ensuring a reliable and cost-effective supply chain.
  • Electrolyte Storage Tank Development: Design and engineer tanks for electrolyte storage, ensuring durability and compatibility with system requirements.

Requirements

  • CAD Software Expertise: Advanced knowledge of CAD software, such as SolidWorks, for designing and modeling components.
  • Redox Flow Technology Knowledge: Strong understanding of Redox Flow Technology basics or related energy storage technologies.
  • Corrosion Resistance and Material Compatibility: Experience with corrosion-resistant materials and understanding their compatibility with electrolytes, with a focus on long-term efficiency and safety.
  • Fluid Mechanics and Flow Management: Solid understanding of fluid mechanics and flow management principles, with an ability to apply them to optimize system performance.
  • Team Collaboration: Experience working effectively in interdisciplinary teams to drive cross-functional projects and solutions.
  • International Standards and Regulatory Knowledge: Knowledge of international standards and norms for batteries and energy storage systems (e.g., ISO, IEC), or willingness to learn and adapt to relevant regulations.
  • Processing Technologies: Knowledge of plastic-compatible designs and processing technologies.
  • Prior experience: At least 3 years of professional experience.
