We are looking for an exceptional individual to join ExoMatter as a Ruby on Rails developer. In this role, you will be working directly on our customer-facing platform and internal tools that power our Materials R&D platform.

Tasks
As a Ruby on Rails developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and further developing our customer-facing materials screening and computation platform, including our internal management tools. You will work in our small but growing development team, alongside our Python backend developers and our our team of materials scientists.
Knowledge about Materials Science is not required
- You will implement new application functionality, build new interfaces, and maintain the existing codebase
- You will be working directly in our established Ruby on Rails codebase
- You will work on intergrations between our Ruby on Rails application and our Python computation backend, including scaling our queing and pooling systems
Requirements
- You have 3+ years commercial experience working with both Ruby on Rails, and have ideally built at least one commercial application from scratch
- You have strong experience in testing (specifically with RSpec)
- Ability to work autonomously and self-manage are very important
- Fluent in spoken and written English, German skills are a plus
- You live in Munich or want to move to Munich and are willing to work ca. 50% of your time on-site
Not required, but a plus:
- Experience working with vanilla Javascript, implementing frontend interfaces, UI/UX design/implementation
- Experience working with Sidekiq, and/or other job management systems
- Experience with Python
- Experience working in a startup environment and/or in a small team
