We are seeking an experienced and innovative Climate Infrastructure Developer to spearhead the development of our bioethanol clean cooking project, along with other climate initiatives in Africa. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping the project scope, managing costs, establishing timelines, and evaluating resources. Emphasis will be placed on meticulous planning and execution, including logistics for feedstock transportation and bioethanol distribution.

Tasks

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Development: Lead the development of the bioethanol clean cooking project and other climate initiatives in Africa, taking charge of developing the overall project scope, budget, timeline, and required resources.

Logistics Planning: Oversee the planning and execution of logistics for feedstock transportation and bioethanol distribution, ensuring a smooth and efficient supply chain.

Engineering Oversight: Manage consultant/contractor in charge of engineering processes associated with the establishment of the bioethanol factory, maintaining a focus on quality, efficiency, sustainability, and respect of industry standards.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with project goals.

Reporting: Provide regular reports to senior management, updating on project progress, challenges, and opportunities.

Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards governing bioethanol production, cookstove manufacturing, and distribution processes.

Sustainability Focus: Integrate sustainability principles into all aspects of the project, aligning with the company's commitment to environmental responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, MBA, or related field
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful planning and execution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Genuine passion for climate-related initiatives, with a deep commitment to making a positive impact on environmental sustainability.
  • Ability to travel often and work across different time zones
