We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to support our accounting department with daily financial tasks. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This role is critical to the smooth functioning of our financial operations and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Process invoices, verify expenses, and issue payments to vendors.
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up on collections.
2. Bank Reconciliation & Financial Transactions:
- Reconcile company bank statements and report discrepancies.
- Prepare journal entries and assist in ledger maintenance.
- Handle petty cash and track business expenses.
3. Payroll & Employee Expense Management:
- Assist in payroll preparation, ensuring accurate deductions and tax calculations.
- Process employee reimbursements and maintain expense reports.
4. Tax & Compliance Support:
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and compliance reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
5. Financial Reporting & Data Management:
- Maintain and update financial records in the accounting system.
- Generate reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and budget reports.
- Assist in financial audits by preparing necessary documentation.
6. Administrative & General Support:
- Support the accounting team with administrative tasks, such as filing, data entry, and document organization.
- Coordinate with other departments for financial-related matters.
- Assist in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred (entry-level candidates may be considered).
- Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Xero (preferred).
- Analytical Skills: Strong numerical ability with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity and discretion.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot discrepancies and provide effective solutions.
- Time Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
