We are CoCrafter (YC W24), a Munich-based start-up founded in 2023 with a mission to revolutionize collaboration processes in construction.

The construction industry is the backbone of the European economy but has been largely overlooked by digitization efforts. The result: inefficient processes and untapped potential.

Subcontracting is one of the most crucial processes in construction, and no large project can be realized without it. However, highly inefficient subcontracting processes lead to lost revenue and missed growth opportunities for contractors every day. This issue is further exacerbated by the ongoing labor shortage.

CoCrafter is the solution: Our platform enables contractors to find and manage subcontractors effectively—all in one place. We bring transparency and quality to a highly fragmented market.

Backed by top-tier investors, we are already helping some of the largest construction companies redefine their subcontracting processes. In 2024, we secured €1.7M in funding from Y Combinator, 10x Founders, and other investors, positioning us to scale rapidly.

We're looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing team. You will be part of the engineers who build up our product in close collaboration with the founders. This hands-on role is perfect for a resourceful and adaptable individual who thrives in a startup environment and is passionate about developing innovative products.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Build scalable, modular solutions (Typescript, Next.js, Nest.js) for our product.
• Product Mindset: Contribute to an exceptional user experience by always keeping our end-users in mind. Or with YC words: make something people want.
• Cross-functional Communication: Strong work ethic, team player, very good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and even customers.
• Techie at Heart: Be passionate about developing & implementing a diverse set of complex features while ensuring the delivery of scalable, maintainable, and performant software.

Optional: Further development and maintaining of our deployment pipeline (Github Actions) and cloud infrastructure set-up (AWS, Terraform, Docker)

We believe that problem-solving, creativity, and ambition are most important. Tools and technologies can be picked up. However, the following references will give a guideline of what experiences we think might be helpful.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Preferably 1+ year of previous Internships or Working Student positions
• Experience with building scalable and reusable key components for front-end and backend applications, ideally with Javascript and Typescript, Node.js and its ecosystem
• First experience with PostgreSQL database or similar relational databases and REST APIs
• First experience by deploying applications to cloud services such as Azure, GCP or AWS
• Collaborative team spirit, proactive mindset and ability to quickly learn new things
• Fluent in Englisch and understand German conversational (B2 or +)
• Start: As soon as possible
