Broco is building the financial layer francophone Africa needs but doesn't have yet, by starting where the money already flows. Not in bank accounts (most people don't have one, by choice), but in the supply chains, the merchants, the delivery drivers, the cash that moves through every neighborhood every day.
Our thesis is contrarian: people aren't unbanked because banks don't exist. They're unbanked because banks aren't useful — yet. We're changing that by becoming the rail the cash itself travels on.
The consumer product is where that thesis becomes tangible. A global account. A Visa card. Europe-to-Africa remittance at a fraction of the usual cost. The ability to receive a salary from abroad, pay for digital services, protect your savings from devaluation — all from one app, built for the way people in this region actually live.
We're hiring a Head of Marketing to own how Broco reaches, acquires, and retains consumers. The role reports directly to the CEO and sits on the leadership team.
Tasks
- Own Broco’s consumer growth strategy across North Africa and future francophone African markets — from positioning to execution
- Build and run growth loops around Broco’s core consumer products: global accounts, Visa cards, remittance, digital services, cash-in / cash-out and referrals
- Find creative, low-cost and scalable ways to acquire users in cash-driven markets: community, referrals, influencers, local activations, partnerships, agents, couriers and merchants
- Turn Broco’s physical network into a growth advantage, using cash agents, delivery desks, couriers and local merchants as acquisition and trust channels
- Make a complex financial product feel simple, useful and trustworthy for everyday users
- Keep Broco’s brand coherent across multiple products, markets and audiences, without slowing down execution
- Manage performance marketing experiments across paid social, creators, referral campaigns, local activations, content, partnerships and offline acquisition channels
- Work closely with Product to improve onboarding, activation, retention, referral and transaction frequency inside the Broco consumer app
- Define and track clear KPIs across acquisition, CAC, activation, retention, referrals, transaction frequency and brand trust
- Build and manage a marketing team over time, scaling it as Broco grows across markets
Requirements
- 5+ years in marketing or growth roles, with significant hands-on experience at a scale-up or high-growth consumer product
- Proven track record in consumer acquisition and retention — you've moved metrics, not just managed campaigns
- Comfortable operating as both strategist and executor: you set the direction and you do the work
- Strong instinct for brand consistency without being precious about it — you understand why it matters without letting it slow things down
- Experience building and managing teams
- Deep familiarity with the Algerian market; broader North Africa exposure is a strong plus
- Experience in fintech, super-apps, e-commerce, or other consumer tech verticals is highly valued
- Excellent communication in French and English.
