Senior Software Engineer (Python) - Hybrid-model in Lisbon (Portugal)

We are looking for a Senior Python Developer to join our dynamic team in the insurance sector. In this role, you will play a key part in developing cloud-based solutions, optimizing databases, and implementing best practices in software architecture and security. You’ll work in a collaborative environment, leveraging modern development methodologies and cloud frameworks to drive innovation.

• Develop and maintain scalable Python applications, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Design and implement cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Batch and ServiceIO.
• Integrate and optimize APIs to ensure seamless data exchange across systems.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software deployment and delivery processes.
• Ensure security best practices in IT applications and infrastructure, minimizing risks and vulnerabilities.
• Optimize database performance using SQL and ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
• Contribute to software architecture by designing solutions aligned with best practices in Active Directory (AD), Storage, and Managed Services.
• Apply strong problem-solving and algorithmic skills to enhance system efficiency and performance.
• Leverage cloud frameworks and modern development methodologies to build innovative insurance solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility.

🎓 Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field

✅ 5+ years of Python development experience (mandatory)

✅ Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud (Azure Batch, ServiceIO, etc.) (mandatory)

✅ Good knowledge working with Software ArcGIS (it is a plus)

✅ Good experience in using APIs (mandatory)

✅ Experience developing CI/CD pipelines (mandatory)

✅ Solid understanding of security principles in IT applications and infrastructures

✅ Expertise in SQL and database optimization

✅ Experience with software architecture best practices (AD, Storage, Managed services, etc.)

✅ Strong algorithmic and problem-solving skills

✅ Good knowledge of cloud frameworks and modern development methodologies

✅ Availability and interest to work in an hybrid model (twice a week)
