About the role

The ESG Strategy Associate will be the entrepreneurial right-hand partner to our Head of ESG, responsible for building up our world-class ESG department and infusing domain knowledge into our market-leading ESG software. You’ll join after the recent closing of our Series A investment, guaranteeing that growth, scalability, and execution on our strategic goals will be top of mind. You’ll get direct exposure to working with the C-suite and what it’s like to build a company at the intersection of sustainability and technology. You’ll work at start-up speed, gain deep knowledge about sustainability topics, and apply your skillset across all areas of the ESG department. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of strategic initiatives and shape your career path towards roles like ESG Operations Lead, Project Lead, or Chief of Staff.

• Strategy: Develop strategic goals for teams/individuals in the ESG department, helping us set, track, and execute on our vision to be the market-leading ESG software solution.
• Recruitment: Assist in doubling the size of the ESG team (focusing on high quality candidates and maintaining our amazing culture). Coordinate our activities to find, attract, and retain the top experts on topics such as sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, and ESG regulation.
• Company-building: Contribute to the ESG department’s evolution as we transition from Series A to Series B. Help us set the right team culture and ensure we have the processes and capacity for fast growth.
• Product: Coordinate input on our product roadmaps from ESG experts and track progress in building the best ESG solutions on the market. Create knowledge-sharing assets that educate our entire company on sustainability topics and regulatory trends, setting them up for success.
• Customers: Assist our Head of ESG with key customer relationships from large companies, banks, and asset managers who need our sustainability solutions.

We’re looking for a talented individual who brings the following experience and qualities:

• Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university in business, sustainability, management, or similar.
• You have 1-3 years of experience working in a startup environment. You operate best in an entrepreneurial setting and take ownership of both strategic and operational tasks.
• You are committed to making a positive impact and reaching sustainability goals.
• You are strategic and analytical. You solve complex problems creatively and enjoy working with data to inform decision-making. Experience with data projects or coding is a plus.
• You work efficiently across multiple key workstreams, effectively balancing speed and quality.
• You are fluent in English. Fluency in additional languages (especially German) is a bonus.
