Member of the Technical Staff Crypto & AI | NYC Onsite

Location: New York City, United States – Onsite only
Compensation: $300K–$375K + 0.1%–0.4% equity, depending on seniority

About the Role

We are looking for a Member of the Technical Staff / Software Engineer to join a high-performance in-house engineering team working at the intersection of crypto, AI, and technology startups.

This is a highly hands-on role for an entrepreneurial engineer who enjoys taking ownership of products from idea to production. You will work directly with senior leadership and have significant influence over product, engineering, and user experience decisions.

What You'll Do

• Own products end-to-end: discovery → definition → design → development → launch → iteration.
• Build production-grade applications using TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js.
• Develop internal tools that improve team productivity and operational efficiency.
• Build and maintain external websites and web applications.
• Create polished, accessible, high-performance UIs using React and component libraries.
• Integrate third-party APIs including authentication, payments, email, and other services.
• Design and maintain data models, caching strategies, and application performance.
• Contribute to engineering quality through code reviews, CI/CD, reliability, and accessibility best practices.
• Use modern AI development tools to accelerate engineering workflows.

What We're Looking For

• Strong product-minded software engineer who can turn ambiguous problems into shipped products.
• Deep hands-on experience with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Experience with Next.js and modern databases such as PostgreSQL / Prisma is a plus.
• Strong sense of UX/UI and ability to translate ideas into user flows or lightweight wireframes.
• Highly autonomous Individual Contributor (IC) with strong ownership and execution.
• High-agency, entrepreneurial, self-driven mindset.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with limited process and high responsibility.
• Based in NYC or willing to relocate to NYC. This is a non-negotiable requirement.

Strong Qualifications – Nice to Have

• Outstanding GitHub or open-source contributions.
• Strong design-engineering portfolio demonstrating polished UI, component systems, accessibility, and performance.
• Experience as a founder or early-stage engineer at a VC-backed startup.
• Experience at a leading technology company or high-growth startup.
• Exceptional achievements in areas such as competitive programming, gaming/esports, mathematics, physics, academics, or other highly competitive fields.

Compensation

$300,000–$375,000 base salary + 0.1%–0.4% equity, depending on seniority and experience.
