Our client, a well-established company operating in the travel and tourism field is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in variance analysis and possess excellent analytical skills. This role involves providing detailed financial analysis, supporting business decision-making, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Tasks
- Conduct thorough variance analysis of financial data, comparing actual results to budgeted or forecasted figures, and provide detailed explanations for variances to management. Identify fixed and variable costs to be used for group reporting. This includes ocean vessels and river vessels (EU/Asia).
- Prepare ad hoc cruise vessel reports as required by management in order to analyse costs between different categories.
- Preparation of annual cruise vessel budgets and quarterly forecasts, working closely with various departments to gather necessary information.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to improve financial performance.
- Utilize advanced analytical techniques to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, and operations, to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives. Ensure a close relationship is kept with Accounting Managers in order to have a good understanding on actuals reported.
- Identify areas and assist with process of drafting policies and procedures. Handle approvals for various tasks in order to ensure controls are abided by.
- Carry out onboard audits to ensure controls are in place, visit warehouses and other offices and report findings to management.
- Handling group requirements with regards to ESG matters.
- Any other tasks as requested by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is preferred.
- At least 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on variance analysis and management reporting.
- Proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, including advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of industry-specific financial practices and regulations.
- Experience in a multinational company or a similar fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
