Tasks
We are seeking a full-time Software Developer with a good background in Object Oriented Programming, knowledge of biological data statistical analysis and signal post-processing tools, and high interest in front-end tools development for data representation/visualization purposes, to join the Bio-Informatics team at 3Brain’s Italian unit. The candidate will be part of our growing software team shaping the future of our software solutions. This position requires coding and maintenance of our main software tools and product. Main responsibilities:
- Contribute to design, develop, and maintain high-quality code in O-O .NET based programming languages.
- Develop data processing algorithms, statistical post-processing and biological data manipulation strategies, aimed for visualization purposes by means of graphs, diagrams and an GUI tools, to facilitate the user experience understanding and handling the results.
- Maintenance of existing and released software with debugging and identification of potential issues, and contribution in developing and implementing solutions for the resolution.
- Document code to facilitate internal understandability and management, document technical deliverables through use cases and specifications, preparation of reports for example on problems encountered by customers and on the software life cycle.
- Collaborate with fellow bioinformatics data analysts and developers in the ongoing search for innovations of interest to the Company, and in scientific and technical activities related to the Company's products, such as, for example, experimenting with new algorithms, researching the most up-to-date bioinformatics data manipulation tools, and supporting in the analysis of data collected by customers.
- Adhere to Company standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements during the development process.
- Coordinate efforts with other project teams to maintain product integrity.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- B.Sc./M.Sc. degree in Software Eng., Informatics/Bioinformatics or similar.
- 2 years of experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP), data structures and algorithms, and/or front-end development on data/results - visualization/representation tools.
- Basic knowledge in statistical data analysis and signal post-processing tools, data management and optimization strategies.
- Collaborative problem-solving ability, action-oriented and results-focused.
- We use English to communicate in the office; therefore, comfort with the language is essential.
- Applicant must have an EU citizenship/work permit.
Additional Qualifications
- Candidates with knowledge and experience in C#, C/C++ and .NET technologies are strongly preferred.
- Knowledge or experience in data visualization tools (graphs, charts), statistical data management and export tools.
