Your role - what you will do with us:

To keep growing, Xelon needs a steady pipeline of high-quality new customer opportunities. As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you're responsible for actively initiating this deal flow – with a strong focus on outbound initiatives. You identify potential customers, develop creative outreach strategies, and bring new leads into the sales funnel. This role is crucial to further strengthen our position as a leading cloud infrastructure provider for IT service providers and mid-sized end customers.

  • Opportunity Generation First: You focus 100% on systematically generating new opportunities – with a clear emphasis on strategic outbound.
  • Outbound Strategy Development: You independently develop ideas on how our existing solutions can be positioned with key target customers and personas (ICP 1–3, 7).
  • New Markets, New Paths: You identify new ICPs, market segments, or use cases – and explore how our products can create value in those areas.
  • Product Collaboration: You work closely with the product team on new solutions – based on clear briefs, hypotheses, and market validation.
  • Creative Outreach: You plan, test, and scale outreach campaigns via email, social selling, events, and calls – with a strong focus on relevance, resonance, and response.
  • Close Collaboration with AEs: You pre-qualify opportunities and hand them over in a structured way to our Account Executives.

Goals & KPIs:

  • Qualified Opportunities / Month: Number of newly generated, sales-ready leads within our ICP.
  • Campaign Quality & Learning Curve: Quality of your outreach efforts and your ability to derive learnings for scaling and iteration.
  • Feedback Loop with Product/Marketing: Quality and frequency of your feedback on market reactions, ICP behavior, and product fit.

What we expect from you

  • Drive & Ownership: You’re a self-starter who likes to experiment, take responsibility, and persistently work toward results.
  • Strategic Thinking: You recognize patterns, form hypotheses, and test what messages work with which target groups.
  • Communication Skills: You speak our audience’s language – direct, professional, and technically sound.
  • Tech Affinity: You’re interested in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, Kubernetes & co. – even if you’re not (yet) an engineer.
  • Structure & Reporting: You work systematically, document accurately in the CRM, and think in processes.
  • German & English: You communicate fluently in German and have solid English skills for international contacts.
