Your Mission

About the Role

At ubitricity, we are accelerating the rollout of accessible and reliable public EV charging infrastructure across the UK.

We are looking for a Technical & Regulatory Manager to provide technical expertise and regulatory guidance across our UK public charging activities. You will support client engagement, tender processes, project planning and deployment readiness, ensuring that our solutions are technically robust, compliant and aligned with evolving market and public-sector requirements.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, regulation, infrastructure delivery and stakeholder engagement. You will help translate technical and regulatory complexity into clear guidance for commercial, delivery, operations and product teams.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

  • Act as a subject matter expert for UK EV charging infrastructure, particularly public and local authority charging solutions.
  • Provide technical input to client discussions, commercial opportunities, project planning and tender processes.
  • Review technical specifications, statements of requirements and tender documentation.
  • Support tender and project development by preparing technical clarifications, solution narratives and quality responses, while assessing technical risks, feasibility and implementation requirements in close collaboration with commercial, delivery and operations teams.

    Regulatory & Compliance Management

  • Monitor UK EV charging regulations, industry standards, accessibility requirements and policy developments and translate them into practical recommendations for internal teams.
  • Represent ubitricity in industry forums and stakeholder groups (e.g. ChargeUK and OZEV), helping shape discussions and monitor regulatory developments.
  • Support alignment with local authority requirements, public-sector frameworks and funding programmes.
  • Maintain awareness of market best practice, technical standards and emerging compliance requirements.
  • Engage with industry working groups to influence regulatory bodies shaping market requirements to fit ubitricity's offering in the UK
  • Provide regular updates and guidance to relevant internal stakeholders.

    Tender & Public-Sector Technical Support

  • Support tender and project development by preparing technical clarifications, solution narratives and quality responses, while assessing technical risks, feasibility and implementation requirements in close collaboration with commercial, delivery and operations teams.
  • Foster engagement with local authorities, consultants, OZEV-related stakeholders and technical bodies where required.
  • Explain technical topics clearly in client-facing and internal discussions.

    Product, Market & Technical Insight

  • Track developments in charging technology, hardware, software, grid connections, accessibility and deployment models including competitor product offering.
  • Provide feedback to product, hardware and ecosystem management teams on UK market requirements.
  • Contribute technical input to business cases and future network growth strategies, including forecasting of future demand/ sales.

    Deployment & Contract Support

  • Liaise with DNOs, consultants, technical bodies and other infrastructure stakeholders where required.
  • Support technical handovers from tender award or contract signature to delivery and operations teams.
  • Help formalise technical contract requirements, including SLAs, KPIs, standards and implementation obligations.

Your profile

What You Bring

  • Experience in EV charging, energy, utilities, transport, infrastructure, electrical systems or a related technical sector.
  • Strong understanding of technical and regulatory environments relevant to infrastructure deployment.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical, regulatory or procurement information and explain it clearly to different audiences.
  • Experience supporting tenders, public-sector projects, regulated environments or complex technical programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across commercial, delivery, operations, product and leadership teams.
  • Experience of Charge UK and other industry wide organisations.

    Desirable

  • Experience in UK EV charging infrastructure, especially public, on-street or local authority charging.
  • Knowledge of DNO processes, grid connections, electrical infrastructure or public realm deployment.
  • Familiarity with UK EV charging regulation, accessibility requirements, public-sector procurement or LEVI-funded programmes.
  • Experience preparing technical tender responses or supporting tender clarification processes.
  • Understanding of charge point hardware, software platforms, SLAs, availability and utilisation metrics.
  • Experience working with product, hardware or ecosystem management teams.
