Tasks
We are seeking talented SREs to build our Solutions Engineering team in Vancouver. You are a customer focussed professional with a demonstrated history maintaining production environments. You are confident working in managed services environments and handling production incidents. You’ll partner with clients to uncover requirements and work closely with our engineering teams, creating roadmaps, architecting solutions, and executing on them. Responsibilities
- Run our managed services production environment by taking a holistic view of system health and defining, developing and deploying the necessary telemetry.
- Ensure operational excellence of Taurus' managed services through software engineering.
- Improve the reliability & operability, by eliminating software defects and adding scalability and performance improvements directly to the Taurus product code base.
- Provide ongoing support of existing environments such as incidents management, code upgrades, health checks and optimization projects. This may also include assisting our partner support organizations with break/fix assistance in severe escalation situations.
- Advise clients on API best practices when creating necessary middleware during integration.
- Work closely with members of the engineering teams to quickly resolve any client issues and constantly drive customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in deploying, integrating, and maintaining products in complex environments and organizations – experience in financial services a plus.
- 2-5 years of experience in software development.
- Experience in a client facing role. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience maintaining high availability in remote production environments and familiarity working with VDIs and virtualization technologies.
- Proven experience in various DevOps build and testing processes, releases management, products lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of modem DevOps tooling (Linux, Kubernetes, RedHat Openshift, Docker, Ansible, Terraform, Python, GoLang YAML, Bash/shell scripting)
- Experience maintaining production environments in a managed service or SaaS environment.
- Eager to learn, highly focused on the target, team results-oriented
Bonus Points
- Experience with additional programming languages (Java, Python, Rust, Javascript, etc.)
- Knowledge/experience with relational databases.
- Experience with service management/support tools (Jira Service Management, Zendesk or similar).
